Services and Costs

Olive Grove Counseling serves individuals and couples via telehealth therapy sessions. Sessions are provided via a HIPAA-compliant platform. Clients are encouraged to find a safe, quiet, and private space from which to participate in therapy sessions.

At this time, Olive Grove Counseling offers only self-pay therapy sessions at a flat rate for individuals and couples. Clients are expected to pay out of pocket within 24 hours of each session. OGC is considered to be an out-of-network provider with insurance companies. If your health insurance plan offers mental health benefits, OGC will provide you with a “super bill” that you can use to receive partial reimbursement from a health insurance plan, depending upon your benefits. Please verify your own benefits with your insurance company if you hope to receive reimbursement.

Values and Purpose

Therapeutic services offered at Olive Grove Counseling are client-centered, culturally responsive, trauma informed, and empowerment-based. What does this mean? Client-centered services are those that place the client in the driver’s seat. You are the best-informed person about your past and your present; you may need someone to sit in the passenger seat to offer insight, guidance, and direction, as many of us do, but ultimately you are the one dictating the direction in which we move. Culturally responsive therapy honors your unique values, beliefs, upbringing, and experiences, believing that they can ultimately be tapped into as a source of strength during the therapeutic process. The importance of trauma informed counseling cannot be overstated; many clients enter therapy with experiences of past traumas, small and big, and these past wounds continue to impact the present. Trauma informed therapy is about working with those traumas to bring gentle healing in a safe space, while avoiding re-traumatization. Empowerment-based services have a strong focus on building you up and empowering you to be an agent of change in your own life.

About Sarah

Areas Targeted: Life can be hard; you do not have to wait until your situation feels crushing to receive support. Whether you’re experiencing relational conflict, painful loss, self-doubt, or a season of overwhelm, there is hope. Sarah also offers experienced therapy to those dealing with the effects of depression, anxiety, attention-deficits, grief and loss, trauma, divorce, cross-cultural adjustments, parental adjustments, and stress. She is currently licensed to provide therapy in North Carolina, Illinois, and (soon to be) Iowa.

Professional Background: Sarah has accumulated nearly ten years of professional counseling experience. She began practicing within the school setting, working with adolescents struggling with more pronounced and complex mental health disorders. She spent several years serving international students at an international boarding school and gleaned from that a love for working with adolescents and emerging adults who are impacted by cross-cultural changes and intensive academic pressure. Sarah then transitioned into working with individuals and couples in a behavioral health clinic with clients ranging in age from elementary school to later life. Sarah has occasionally offered supervision to social work graduate students.
